A few more weeks and then the Tour de France will start with a flat stage over 191 kilometers. This is the chance for sprinters to take off with the first yellow jersey. That is why various top teams have included the ZLM Tour in their competition program to get their sprint trains on track optimally.
The best-known sprinters who start in the ZLM Tour are Dylan Groenewegen from Jumbo-Visma and Caleb Ewan from Lotto-Soudal. Both have shown to be in good shape in recent weeks. Groenewegen won three stages in the Four Days of Dunkirk, while Caleb Ewan claimed two stage victories in the Giro.
They can count on strong competition from Team Sunweb neo-pro Cees Bol, who took part in stage victories in the Tour of California and the Tour of Norway in recent weeks. Other fast men on the list of participants are Timothy Dupont (Wanty), Jens Debusschere (Katusha-Alpecin), Boy van Poppel (Roompot-Charles), Coen Vermeltfoort (Alecto Cyclingteam) and the Australian champion Michael Freiberg (Pro Racing Sunshine Coast) .
