ZLM Tour 2020 | 3 - 7 june 2020
We are currently preparing for the routes for 2020. Edition 2020 will be the preparation course for the sprinters on the Tour de France. It promises to be a true spectacle!
ZLM Tour 2019
The route of the ZLM Tour 2019 was as follows.
The Zeeland town of Yerseke, pearl on the Oosterschelde, will be the starting place of the renewed five-day ZLM Tour on Wednesday 19 June. The stage race starts with a prologue over 6.8 kilometers. The first rider starts at 6 p.m., while the finish of the last rider is expected around the clock at 8:30 p.m. Then it will also be known who is going to have the first yellow ZLM leader’s jersey. The wind may well play an important role in the first stage of the ZLM Tour. The start of this stage will be given at 11.15 am in Bredene, Belgium. 197.9 kilometers later, the finish line was drawn on the Stenevate in Heinkenszand, in the municipality of Borsele. The riders pass for the first time around 14.30 at the finish, which is located at the town hall. After that they will ride three more local circuits of about 19 kilometers. The second stage of the ZLM Tour starts in Etten-Leur at 1 pm and brings the cyclists from Etten-Leur in West Brabant after a neutralized round through Etten-Leur via the “Brabantse Kempen” to the Limburg town of Buchten. Around 16.45 the riders pass the finish line in Buchten for the first time, where they have to complete two local rounds of 7.7 kilometers. Competitors who want to qualify for the final win in this ZLM Tour can make their move on June 22 during the Queen’s stage in the Limburg hills. This stage starts at 12.30 from the Markt in Buchten and finishes around 16.30 at the Beethovensingel in Landgraaf. Afterwards, an “October party” takes place and it promises to be a pleasant evening. Read more about the programme in Buchten.
During the High Tech Crit Festival, “the future of cycling”, all team buses from the teams will be on the Strip of the High Tech Campus from 11.30 am. A promo village will also be set up in the near by the Strip, where the riders must sign the starting list and be presented to the public. The finish line of the final stage will be drawn in the Piusstraat in Tilburg, where the riders will come through for the first time around 4 p.m.
