Stages ZLM Tour 2022

This edition of the ZLM Tour (June 8-12, 2022) will be the preparation race for the sprinters for the Tour de France.  The ZLM Tour begins this year with two stages in the Province of Zeeland. The third stage takes place in the hills of Limburg. Finally, stages four and five will finish in the Province of Brabant. The exact routes and timetables can be found in the ZLM Tour Roadbook.

Stage 1 Kapelle - Kapelle

The race will start on Wednesday, June 8, in Kapelle. The first stage is a local course of 12km from the center of Kapelle along and through Wemeldinge. The riders will complete this course eight times. The total length of the stage will be 101km.

Stage 2 Veere - Goes

On day two, the stage will start at 12:00 in the municipality of Veere. This stage largely follows the former Tacx Pro Classic or Ronde van Midden-Zeeland route and guarantees a classic ride with many open stretches and wind. The finish of this second stage is in Goes around 16:00.

Stage 3 Heythuysen - Buchten

The start at 12:00 hours of the Friday stage takes place in Heythuysen, the municipality of Leudal. Leudal is located between Weert and Roermond. From the center of Heythuysen, the peloton heads south, via Buchten, to find the necessary height meters in the Provence of Limburg. After the Camerig, the riders quickly head back north to finish with three local laps in Buchten.

The finale of this hilly stage is flat and offers another chance for the sprinters.

Stage 4 Rucphen – Mierlo

On Saturday, June 11, the peloton will ride from the west of Brabant to the province’s east. After the neutralization in Rucphen start at 12:00, the official start takes place in the Dorpsstraat in Sint Willebrord, where Jan Raas captured the yellow jersey in 1978.  The race finishes in the village center of Mierlo, after passing through the village center of Geldrop, among other beautiful places.

Stage 5 Made – Rijsbergen

This Sunday, we will start at 12:40 in the municipality of Drimmelen with a neutralized lap on the course of the pro race of Made. For over 75 years, this pro criterium took place on Mondays, after Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and, like the ZLM Tour, always brings some big names to the cycling village.

The ZLM Tour finishes on Sunday afternoon in Rijsbergen.
