The date for the ZLM Tour 2022 is known!

From 8 to June 12, the best sprinters in the world will once again finetune their sprint trains in preparation for the Tour de France! The ZLM Tour is on the UCI calendar as part of the ProSeries, which means the race falls directly under the UCI World Tour calendar with races like Paris-Roubaix, Amstel Gold Race, and the three Grand Tours.

Currently, the organization is working on the stage schedule. However, in all likelihood, the stage schedule will again consist primarily of sprinters stages in the provinces of Zeeland, North Brabant, and Limburg.

‘The date of 2022 is favorable on the international calendar and in preparation for the Tour de France and La Vuelta with this year’s start in the Netherlands. The climbers can prepare in the Critérium du Dauphiné, and the sprinters can participate in the ZLM Tour from 8 to June 12 and then travel to the Tour of Belgium. We hope this will bring even more teams and famous riders from the World Tour to the start’. Says Joost van Wijngaarden project leader ZLM Tour 2022.

Jumbo-Visma professional Mike Teunissen won the last edition of the ZLM Tour. A few weeks later, Teunissen won the opening stage of the Tour de France in Brussels and became the first Dutchman to wear the yellow jersey since 1989. Dylan Groenewegen and Lotto-Soudal sprinter Caleb Ewan were also successful in the ZLM Tour and subsequently booked stage victories in the Tour de France.
