ZLM Tour rescheduled to 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic

The ZLM Tour will not take place in 2020, due to the stricter COVID-19 measures taken by the Dutch government. On March 23, 2020, it was announced that all sporting events until the first of June are prohibit. The ZLM Tour is scheduled to run from May 27th to 31st and is therefore exactly within this period.

The ZLM Tour wants to return to the original date next year, as close as possible to the start of the Tour de France. “The preferred date would be two weeks before the Tour de France. This fits best with our profile as the ideal preparation for the Tour de France, specifically for sprinters, “said Martin de Kok. The Tour  France will start in Denmark where there is a similar landscape as in the Netherlands. That promise to be flat rides with a possible sprint at the end. The ZLM Tour fits, apart from the date, so perfectly in preparation for 2021.
